Goldsmith Jūlijs Blūms Crystal Decanter 26.5 cm with a cork and silver finish on the neck, while the glasses are silver - 5 cm. The weight of the glasses is over 200 gr (cannot measure accurately at the moment). Assay - 875. A rarity nowadays in a unified ensemble, as crafted by the master. No chips. Year of manufacture visible: 1925. Masterpiece by goldsmith master Jūlijs Blūms. He was born in 1873 in Tirza and went to Riga early in life to learn the goldsmith trade. Blūms worked for 20 years at Jansons' firm, but after the war, he founded his own company. Blūms died before the occupation - in 1937 at the age of 63 due to illness. Blūms had a daughter who was married to the Minister of War, Gen. J. Balodis. Member of the Latvian Chamber of Crafts. This work was made in his own workshop when Blūms was already a recognized and respected master.
