💡 During the USSR era, the so-called "blue lamp" (officially - medical reflector or Minin's reflector, invented by Russian military doctor Anatoliy Minin) was a part of almost every household's first aid kit. It was a simple but effective tool for home physiotherapy.

💡 The device consists of a metal hemisphere-shaped reflector with a handle and a blue-colored incandescent bulb screwed into it. The function of the blue glass was not ultraviolet radiation (as many mistakenly believe), but rather light filtering to reduce eye glare and concentrate infrared or heat radiation.

✅ Main functions
✔️Heating: The lamp's primary task was local tissue heating with dry heat.
✔️Improving circulation: Heat expanded blood vessels, promoting healing and reducing inflammation.
✔️Pain relief: Helped alleviate muscle tension and joint pain.

⚕️ During Soviet times, the blue lamp was most commonly used for:
Treating colds and sinusitis (by warming the sinuses).
⚕️ In cases of ear pain (in the early stages of otitis).
⚕️ Preventing colds and reducing cough (by warming the chest or back).
⚕️ Muscle and joint inflammations.

❗The blue lamp should not be used at high body temperatures, acute pus processes, or tumors, as heat could worsen the situation.
